One of the traditional stories is that the Raven goes into the Great Chief's Longhouse and steals the light... while fleeing under pursuit and such.. bits and pieces of the Light break off and form the Sun, Moon, Stars etc...
and that's how the People received Light...
in THIS particular Totem pole...
The Native Chief = The many Tribal Members and Elders who worked with the facility's founder...
Box = contains the knowledge and culture of the Native people
Raven = the facility's Founder... Bill Hewitt... he's worked with and appreciated the culture of the Natives in his area of the Northwest and wanted to help preserve it, so the People he worked with (represented by the Native Chief) shared their dances, and knowledge (represented by the Box) to share with the rest of the world~ ^.^
